Ibrahim Hassan | Nigeria Ibrahim Hassan is a sexual and reproductive health rights advocate and a human rights defender committed to intersecting identities. He works to change perceptions about sexual minorities, contributing to shaping laws and policies and shifting public discourse on gender and sexuality through empowerment, the arts, and advocacy. Ibrahim?s work also addresses the health and rights needs of marginalized and minority persons in Nigeria. He is cofounder and team lead at Achievers Improved Health Initiative, which caters to the health, rights, and well-being of marginalized people. Ibrahim holds a bachelor?s degree in International Relations and a master?s degree in Development Studies. Ibrahim aspires to see marginalized persons thrive, free from oppression, bias, and discrimination. After completing the Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders, he plans to continue creating access to equitable sexual and reproductive health services for marginalized communities, to advocate for human rights protection of all persons, to empower young people to make healthy choices, to strategically engage with stakeholders and government for policy reforms, and to push for positive change, nondiscriminatory and gender equal society as well as respect for diversity and inclusion of marginalized persons in decision making.
